About this role
The challenge
We are looking for a Senior Network Engineer with a strong focus on Datacenter and Network Security, responsible for the design, operation, and continuous improvement of mission-critical network infrastructures with high levels of availability, segmentation, and security.
This role acts as the technical reference within the networking team, leading the adoption of best practices, reviewing high-impact changes, and collaborating closely with Infrastructure, Security, Applications, and Cloud teams to ensure scalable, resilient, and secure network architectures.
You will play a key role in defining standards, guiding architectural decisions, and ensuring operational excellence across Datacenter, backbone, and security environments.
Requirements that are important for us
We are looking for a senior-level network engineer with deep expertise in Datacenter and Service Provider environments, capable of operating at scale, influencing architectural decisions, and ensuring reliable and secure network operations.
Relevant experience and expected outcomes
Key responsibilities
Design and review Datacenter architectures based on Spine–Leaf and VXLAN/EVPN using Cisco NX-OS, ensuring scalability and resilience.
Design and operate IP/MPLS backbone networks with high availability and multi-tenant support (VRFs, L3VPNs) using Cisco IOS-XR.
Define and maintain configuration standards, templates, and operational procedures for Datacenter, backbone, and security networks.
Technically lead the network change management process, including review, validation, testing plans, and rollback strategies.
Perform advanced troubleshooting for complex incidents involving routing, VXLAN/EVPN, VPNs, security, and performance.
Drive the adoption of automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) in network operations.
Mentor and support the technical team, documenting solutions and best practices.
General experience
5–7+ years of experience in Network Engineering in advanced or senior roles.
Proven experience in Datacenter and/or Service Provider environments.
Routing & Switching
Strong expertise in BGP (design, policies, communities, route-maps, troubleshooting).
Advanced knowledge of at least one IGP (ISIS preferred, OSPF also valued).
Experience working in multivendor environments (Cisco or equivalent carrier/Datacenter platforms).
Datacenter & VXLAN/EVPN
Solid experience operating Spine–Leaf Datacenter fabrics, including:
Cisco Nexus 9000 (NX-OS)
VXLAN/EVPN (EVPN control plane and VXLAN data plane)
Use of VNIs, VRFs, Anycast Gateway, and redundancy technologies such as vPC or equivalents
Backbone & MPLS
Experience with carrier/backbone routers (Cisco IOS-XR).
Strong knowledge of:
MPLS and L3VPN
SR-MPLS or Traffic Engineering (desirable)
Internet edge operations using BGP (transit, peering, routing policies)
Route Reflectors
Experience working with BGP Route Reflectors, physical or virtual (IOS-XR, Junos or similar platforms).
Key skills and expected impact
Fluency in Spanish and English.
Technical leadership, with the ability to influence architectural design and strategic decisions.
Clear and effective communication, explaining complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Structured troubleshooting mindset, focused on root cause analysis and continuous improvement.
Operational rigor, with strong discipline around procedures, documentation, and change control.
Collaborative approach, working effectively with Infrastructure, Security, Development, and Operations teams.
Continuous improvement mindset, staying up to date with evolving networking and security technologies.
