About this role
The Jotelulu Product team is looking for a Senior Front end Developer to join our engineering team.
You are going to support our growing engineering team and scale our codebase from thousands to millions of users.
You will join a full-stack development team that creates self-service, Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS) at a cloud provider scale.
Actually, Jotelulu are scaling the catalog of IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS services and need experienced developers to help us scale our codebase and achieve our goals.
You'll be part of a fun, fast-paced, collaborative, and agile team.

This is a fully remote role based in Spain. While we have offices in Madrid (Plaza España) and welcome everyone to join us, our software engineering team is spread across multiple cities, making us a remote-friendly company.


Main Mission of the Role


Coordinate the implementation of the new front-end for the SaaS platform using a modern tech stack (React, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, CSS, etc.) designed to address the company's future challenges.

Lead the technical Frontend area to develop and maintain scalable, accessible, and high-performance SaaS user interfaces, aligning technical efforts with Jotelulu’s business goals.


Key Areas of Responsibility


Code Development & Quality

  • Develop solutions ensuring the product meets the company’s defined standards for scalability, reliability, availability, usability, performance, and quality.

  • Promote and design a flexible and scalable architecture to support product growth.

  • Implement and advocate for design patterns and development best practices.

  • Apply coding standards, code reviews, and agile methodologies effectively.

Cross-Departmental Collaboration

  • Collaborate with Product, UX, Infrastructure, and Operations teams to design solutions aligned with business objectives.

  • Ensure effective communication with both technical and non-technical teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.

  • Work closely with squads and departments to tackle complex challenges and maintain technological consistency across the platform.

Team Leadership

  • Guide and mentor the development team in all Frontend-related matters, ensuring high performance and effective collaboration.

  • Manage technical challenges related to the Frontend

You will
  • Provide continuous technical mentorship to the development team in the Frontend domain.

  • Design and implement the company’s new Frontend architecture using Next.js, Node.js, and React.

  • Design and develop modern, responsive UI components and interfaces using React, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.

  • Migrate existing frontend developments to the new architecture by building new components and micro frontends.

  • Collaborate with the product and design teams to define projects and tasks with a high level of clarity and alignment with business goals.

  • Implement automated unit and integration testing to ensure code quality.

  • Supervise and contribute to the adoption of continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) processes for the Frontend.

  • Implement Web Performance Optimisation (WPO) strategies to ensure top-tier platform performance.

  • Maintain and enhance technical and user documentation for developed components and libraries, ensuring consistency in frontend development across all squads.

  • Resolve complex interface-related technical issues and propose innovative solutions.

  • Actively participate in technical planning and team roadmap development.

  • Promote the adoption of accessibility standards, security practices, and frontend development best practices.

What We Are Looking For


Security Requirements

The Product Development team must embed information security principles throughout every stage of the product lifecycle, in alignment with ISO 27001, ENS, and HDS. The team will be responsible for ensuring that all solutions are designed with a 'security by design' approach, mitigating risks from conception through to delivery. They will also work closely with the Security team to perform risk assessments and ensure information protection when adopting innovative technologies.

Technical Skills

  • Advanced micro frontend development with Next.js, Node.js, and React.

  • Strong command of JavaScript (ES6+, ES15 2024), Tailwind, HTML5, and CSS3.

  • Experience with unit testing using Jest and React Testing Library.

  • Automated testing experience with Playwright.

  • Development, consumption, and integration of RESTful APIs and OpenAPI specification.

  • Experience with bundlers like Turbopack and WebPack.

  • Frontend performance optimisation (WPO).

  • Version control using GitLab and collaborative workflows.

  • Basic knowledge of Docker and containerised development environments.

  • Experience working in agile methodologies (ideally Scrum).
